On January 19th, 2019, the New Year Festival of Private Entrepreneurs in Hainan Province was held at the International Exchange Center of China Reform and Development Research Institute. Fu Qihao, former Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, Wu Houkun, Chairman of the Association of Private Entrepreneurs in Hainan Province, and 500 representatives of private enterprises in Hainan gathered together to summarize the achievements of private enterprises in Hainan in 2018 and explore the development plan of private enterprises in 2019.

At the meeting, outstanding private entrepreneurs and outstanding private enterprises were commended. Mr. Wu Hanling, chairman of the board of directors of Handi Group, was elected as "the sixth outstanding private entrepreneurs in Hainan Province", and Handi Sunshine was honored as "the sixth outstanding private enterprises in Hainan Province".

Xiong Lin, Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of Hainan Private Entrepreneurs Association, delivered an important speech on the work summary of Hainan Private Entrepreneurs Association in 2018 and its work plan in 2019. He pointed out that private enterprises are the mainstay of Hainan's economic construction. At present, there are more than 110,000 private enterprises in the province, accounting for 90% of the total enterprises in the province, and the income generated by private enterprises accounts for 80% of the total enterprise economy. In 2018, private enterprises paid 173 billion yuan of tax, accounting for 71% of the total tax revenue of the province. In the whole year, private investment completed 80 billion yuan, accounting for 45% of the total investment in the province. Private enterprises solved 90% of the employment posts. However, under the pressure of the current economic downturn, private enterprises in Hainan are also facing problems such as insufficient confidence index of private enterprises, difficulties in financing and loans, difficulties in transformation and adjustment of private enterprises, and poor investment and ecological environment of private enterprises. He said that private entrepreneurs in Hainan should have sufficient ideological preparation, be more courageous to shoulder the important task of promoting economic development, overcome difficulties and go ahead vigorously.

The journey of 2019 has begun, the horn of progress has sounded, and the sunshine in Handi will continue to maintain its strength, seize the opportunity and promote the development of enterprises to a new level.
